Google has said this is connected to anti-spam measures, but for business owners, it can look like reviews just disappeared for no reason. Fewer visible reviews can mean a lower spot in the local map pack, fewer calls from people comparing you to competitors, and a listing that looks less established than it actually is, right when someone is deciding who to trust.
Protect Your Review History
- Take a screenshot of your current review count and star rating now, so you have a record if something changes.
- If a genuine review disappears, you can report it to Google through your Business Profile, though there’s no guaranteed timeline for a response.
- Don’t assume a missing review means you did something wrong. This appears to be a broader issue, not something isolated to any one business.
If you manage your own Business Profile, checking in on it periodically is worth the five minutes. If something ever looks off with your listing, having someone to ask beats trying to figure it out alone.
